Nintendo Wii Video Game Console w Wii Sports

TV or HDTV seems fine by itself until you discover Nintendo Wii. The Wii introduces a whole new concept to playing video games on your TV. With the Wii, everyone can play, from small kids, to college students, to grandparents, using the motion-sensing controllers. Nintendo Wii adds a more physical approach to game play. In some games, body movements play a more significant role than merely pushing a button. It’s all about having fun gaming. Wii welcomes you.

Wii Sports, packaged with the Wii console, introduces players to those and many other experiences. Wii also taps into Nintendo’s unrivaled legacy of great games with the Virtual Console. Connecting via wireless broadband to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, Wii owners will be able to spend Virtual Console points to download selected classic games from NES, Super NES and N64 video game consoles. And through WiiConnect/24, owners will be able to access even more content. Four-player compatibility as well as the ability to compete with other Wii players over broadband Internet means that Wii offers a true social experience.

Wii is not just a gaming console, it’s a reason to get together with your friends and family and play today’s hottest games. Wii offers legendary Nintendo franchises like Mario, Zelda and Metroid, as well as all new classics like Wii Sports and Wii Play. Create your own Mii (representing you) character to star in Wii games. Play friends online over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection or use the Internet Channel to surf the net from your sofa. You can even download classic Nintendo games using the Wii Shop Channel. Take a look around and see why your TV is not complete without Wii.
Nintendo Wii is a spice, a condiment to your overall TV experience. Once introduced, you will wonder how you ever lived without Wii. It truly is a unique social gaming experience for the whole family. The Wii is waiting for you. Go for it.

3 Stars Fussy to set up but a good variety of games
After playing the original games the Wii came with, this was a little fussier to set up. We also had to break some habits and develop new skills. There are enough games to not get bored quickly, and they are different from the original CD. Overall, it’s a good game with which to whet the electronic gaming appetite.

4 Stars A Good Variety of Games
I got this because I was looking for something that had all your typical amusement games, or, what I call bar games. It has darts, shuffleboard, skiball, lawn darts and more. It is a great little collection of games for the price. It does take a few times to understand the rules and scoring (how I learned to play was different that in the game). The only down side is that you can’t use your own Miis and the characters in the game have annoyingly repetitive movements. Otherwise, this is a great game for a small gathering.

3 Stars Fairly good set of games
Throwing horse shoes with this game is nothing like the real thing, unlike many of the other Wii games. It’s hard to get the horse shoes to go or land where you think they will land. You can’t “spin” the horse shoe. You can’t look down from above, to see how the horse shoe landed, just look from your end, which doesn’t tell you anything. Many look like “leaners”, but when scored, you find out they aren’t. Give me the real thing every time, compared to this game. But, the other games aren’t too bad.

1 Star Wow!…. It was so underwhelming
Game Party 2 was definitely the first let down I have experienced when it came to the Wii. Not only is the game incredibly boring, but you can’t even use your own Mii in the game. You have a limited choice of computerized rejects to play with who I am pretty sure look nothing like any real person.

The games themselves quickly became mundane and reptitive, but not in any challenging sort of way. The trivia game even began to repeat the same questions after only a couple of rounds! Difficult to gauge games like bags and lawn darts made no sense with the controller and shuffle board was mind numbing after a short period of time.

This game fell short and you really have to question why on Earth anyone would put out a game with no style, fun or creativity. If you have a choice, buy another game. This is by far not fun for the whole family or anyone for that matter.

2 Stars Not as great as it sounds
My husband and I were very excited when we bought our wii, but quickly learned that we needed something else to play besides the wii sports. We like to have family and friends over and thought this would be great since it’s a “party” game. However, this game is not as good as it looks. The characters are pretty cheesey and there isn’t a lot of skill involved in any of the games. Overall, this is a game where I think I’d save my money!

2 Stars ehhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
bought this cause it was cheap and I now I see why. The controls are crapper. I will prolly be trading this in a G***stop for store creds. Skip this game and get Tiger woods 2010 with motion plus - the 2009 version was awesome without motion plus, so the 2010 should be incredibly accurate.

4 Stars Very enjoyable
I’m not a real life golfer looking for the most realistic game - just something fairly realistic with a variety of courses to have fun with. This fits the bill

3 Stars We Love Golf!
Purchased this game for my family and they like it, but it does not compare to the golf that came with WII games disk. Overall it is fun and they seem to enjoy it.

5 Stars This is a great game, and I recomend this to everybody!
We love golf! is a great game for everyone to enjoy and prosper! The levels are well designed and fun. The game play is outrages and it’s worth 30$. Who ever reads this and does not own We love golf! I recommend you buy it. The game has 9 awesome courses, plus the other 2 short courses for endless fun! I give this game a 10 out of 10. It’s a masterpiece, and Camelot proves they still have the golfing touch in a game~

4 Stars Fun with friends, not for those looking for “realism”
A quick caveat: this is not Wii Sports. You don’t just stand and swing. There is a specific way to play and that may discourage or frustrate players who are expecting a direct motion/swing game mechanic.

All that aside, this is a fun game. You start out with only a few characters and a couple courses, but you unlock new ones as you play in tournaments, and you unlock characters by beating them in challenges.

The swing mechanic is the thing that sets it apart from Wii Sports’ version of golf. Yes you use motion to control your swing, but NO, the strength of your swing does not determine the strength of the shot. Instead, they have mixed standard control play with a motion based interface.

You move your remote back to the desired point on a swing bar. You wait for a shadow remote icon to meet your current position. After that, the forward swing begins and you want to time it so that you are pointing down when the icon is in the “swing zone”. The accuracy of your shot changes depending on how accurate your timing was. You can also hook and slice by twisting the remote, add extra power by flicking the remote a little at the end of your swing, and you can control top and back spin.

The above paragraph alone should show you that while this is an arcade style game, there is much that you can control. The control scheme is awkward at first, but once you understand it (you can take unlimited practice swings, and you can also practice any hole in a separate training mode) it is easy to use.

The game supports online play, and you can also play multiplayer on a single console, with one or multiple remotes, which is a plus. If you only have 2 remotes, but 4 people, you can still play.

I can’t compare this to super swing golf, but it’s definitely more fulfilling to play than playing the same 9 holes on wii sports.

1 Star Worst Wii game ever - DO NOT BUY
I do not own too many games, but I cannot imagine anything worse than this game. The graphics are ok. Music is annoying. The controls are horrible; which makes the gaming experience unbearable.

I have never written a review about anything. This game is so horrible that I wanted to make sure no one waste a penny on it.

2 Stars Wii Deca Sports
This has lots of neat games, but you can tell its not from Nintendo. There’s a pause from the movement on the controller to when it appears on the screen. Not like in other WII games. Overall, its ok once you get use to that.

4 Stars Lots of Fun
All ages of kids in our house like this game - lots of options and lots of fun for everyone

5 Stars Great involver….Deca
Deca Sports Found sport to be easy to install and helps our granddaughter, Bella, exercise without it being drudgery. We need more like Yoga for everyone….

4 Stars We like it, can’t understand all the complaints!
We rented this game before buying it and have really enjoyed it for the most part. Especially curling, archery, and figure skating. Haven’t had any issues with the responsiveness so I’m wondering if some of these bad reviews are coming from people that aren’t using their remotes and sensor bars properly. However, there are a few games that we don’t spend much time playing, just because they’re a little blah, so I would recommend renting this game before buying it to see if it’s a hit for you and your family or not. Considering the amount of games that you get on the disc, even at $30 if you enjoy half of them, I think it’s a steal!
