1 Star The game is worst than the first version of its
I played its first version-test of time more than 10 years ago and I found it is even worse than that.

The graphics are bad: the interfaces are just like those generated by Microsoft office words.

The game is time-consuming and boring.

What I can remember after playing this game is clicking buttons to upgrade and move next term.

I myself don’t like reading books and I found reading a book is more enjoyable than playing this game.

It shows no improvements on anything.

Don’t waste your money on the game! you will certainly find even reading a boring literature article is more fun than spending hours for clicking button to “enjoy” the game!

1 Star I wish I could give a lower score
[..].

I have wanted this game for a long time.

I have enjoyed other microprose games like Civ 1 and 2

Red storm rising and tank platoon.

My last computer crashed after 5 long years of enduring

XP I bought a vista machine and realized I could finally

play Civ 4. How wrong I was. If I were designing a game

I think I might just load it up on a computer before

shipping it out. Not so with frixas. When I loaded the game

last night my first frustration came when I could not play it.

How silly of me of course you have to load a patch.

However the patch says no game can be found. [..]

3 Stars Boring but addictive
This game is different every time you play it. There are so many ways for each game to go that it is a bit like chess. There is a lot of strategy involved but everything gets bogged down as your empire gets bigger. I find that it is completely unfeasible to micromanage all of your units and cities every turn once you own a continent or two. Especially in wartime when hundreds of units need active management, a turn can take half an hour. Unfortunately, since I make plans for several turns every turn and I want to find out how well my plans turn out, the game, despite its boring mechanics, becomes extremely addictive. It is not uncommon for me to find myself bored out of my mind, yet unable to put the game down.

This is a good game but be aware that it can take over your life.

1 Star Worst strategy game I ever played
While this is the first turn based strategy game I have played on computer, I have enjoyed games such as warcraft, starcraft, empire earth, warlords battlecry series and others. I was etremely disappointed when I started playing this game just to find out that on the easiest lvl I can’t figure out how to win with any strategy. I dont care for wasting turns to build or research and it seems like half the game is just clicking the end turn button. Maybe I was not doing something right or maybe i’m just not good at turn based style games. but the bottom line is I would not recommend it for fans of real time stratedy. It’s extremly restricting and I don’t see how you can gain an advantage over your enemy if everyone has the same amount of turns. I also don’t understand the fighting aspect of the game, it’s takes alot of gold and time to build your army just to get it wiped out in the first scurmish and then you have absolutely no defences. I found the different characters on the playing board hard to find as they would stack and you had to mouse over and find the one you wanted from a small icon. When I bought this game I was assuming it would be more realistic and I had no idea that it is basically no more than a board game with A.I. If you are looking to play Risk buy this game but if you want Warcraft find something else.

I will continue to try and play it until I figure out how but it will prolly be the last turn based game I buy.

3 Stars LOVE CIV IV
Of course, I’m addicted to CIV IV… but I don’t like the cap on the number of turns you’re allowed to take. The game would be perfect if you could play with unlimited turns. I downloaded all of the recommended patches and haven’t noticed a problem yet.

User Ratings and Reviews

3 Stars Not epic like most sims games
This isn’t quite the sims I was hoping it to be, it was good, but I think that Sims 2 castaway was WAY better than this.

Pros,

Its the sims

Story mode is kinda fun

lots of options for everything

sound is pretty good

graphics aren’t bad

Cons,

Not quite as addicting as I hoped it would be

Character customization was kinda frustrating

No Roof? Seriously I would like a roof on my house please

Overall I give this a 7/10, good game, definitely worth my $20

4 Stars Its dinamical!!
Its very dinamical. You can do alot of things with other people lifes and try to have a second chance on life and under stand the meaning of it. (talking about the games, relating with real life experience)

5 Stars Sims 2 Rules!!!
I really love this game.Of course it isn’t the PC version but this one is really addictive.I created a family and built my house then I did what you all do in sims games,I took a large dump.It never gets old hearing the way the Sims talk with their crazy giggling to humorus gibberish. There really is no story to this game that I could pick out but a story would probably have ruined this great game.

Pros:

-Create your own person(clothes,body,and personality)

-Create your own house

-Tons of cool items to put in your home

-Lots of clothing to choose from

-Talking is fun

-Flipping other sims the bird

Cons:

-No option to make kids

-Fire Hazard doesn’t allow you to fill your house with stuff

Those are the only cons I see. So do yourself a favor and pick up this game.

1 Star Very Disappointed
I am very disappointed because unlike the computer game, you can not have kids. They don’t grow old and ect.. This game was very disappointing. I wish I could get my money back and just play the computer Sims 2. The computer version is much better!

1 Star Very Disappointed
I loved the sims and I am up for any good sims game. But this one is the only one I do not like. There is barely nothing to do and the only thing good is all the items, which take forever to get. It’s extremely sluggish too. I know ps2 sim games aren’t the fastest thing but this one was extra slow, it froze up my ps2! There wasn’t enough tasks to do. I rather play the sims 1 game with the worser graphics because at least it was A LOT more entertaining. The big thing is you can’t even have a baby and that sucks big time. My big problem with this was that it wasn’t fun and even though the graphics were very improved they sometimes froze or took forever to do something. So I recomend sims castaway, urbz, busting out…anything but this one. You won’t like it and you’ll be bored in a day or two.
