Does exactly what it is supposed to do. However because it is made in china, you should not gnaw it or you will get lead poisoning.

for 10$ plus 5$ shipping its a must!

also, you can buy cord extenders if you want to run the audio to a receiver.

3 Stars Satisfying
Let’s face it-this system ain’t exactly HD. I’m beginning to think my Narnia game was mislabeled. But it is good. The colors are definitely improved over composite, and widescreen is always nice to have.

My only nitpick, apart from resolution, is the design. The cable itself is pretty plain-looking and not as attractive as most component video cables manufactured these days.

All in all, I recommend.

4 Stars Decent component cables, but not perfect
These cables do what they advertise. The only small issue I’ve seen is that they are susceptible to interference from other electronic devices or power cables. Its a quick and easy fix, just don’t run these cables directly across power cables or near PC power supplies and they work perfectly.

You can get a way better image through HDMI ports. However this picture does come up very good, it is just not the best.

Got exactly what I payed for. However, watch out because this cable is not compatible with older TV’s and it requires all 5 inputs shown in the picture. Otherwise it works great.

5 Stars WORKS GREAT
I got this product for my PS2 and my Sony Bravia, and let me tell you, when I changed my Ps2 video connection from the super video output to this one I felt just like the day when I got my Ps2, the image is much more better, much better, that my wife, who never notices anything new with our media center every time I change something, when she saw me playing NHL 06 thought I got a new video gaming system.

So if you like to give a new edge to you PS2 get this cable, works great and perfect.

5 Stars Works Perfectly
The PS3 Component AV cable worked perfectly for my PS2 and my TV. My TV has Y/Pb/Pr and not Y, Cb/Pb, Cr/Pr inputs. Some forums expressed concern that the PS3 cable would not work for a PS2 with a TV that has only Y/Pb/Pr inputs. It worked perfectly on my TV.

1 Star Poor Quality for Sony
These cables look great in the packaging. But the stylish packaging hides a set of cheapo cables. They are marketed for PS3. You would do much better in buying Monster Cable’s component cables designed for PS2 - the one without the Toslink cable. This assumes you don’t want to pay the crazy current prices for the HDMI. (I bought one on Amazon for $1.98).

After returning these Sony cables, I bought the Monster Cable version for PS2 at Circuit City for $9.00. They were more originally. But PS2 stuff is being unloaded for cheaps now. And the Monster Cables are well-built, properly insulated, perform and connect well.

Decent RCA plugs can be screwed into the RCA jacks. Everyone’s cables claims to have some voodoo magic in its winding. All I know is that line-level cables are capacitance and inductance. They should be free from interference from RF and intereferecne from each other.

I use both HDMI and component cables from my PS3, an alternate. I drive everything with a 2-channel tube amplifier. I think there are advantages of both, but that exceeds the scope of this review.

In sum, find the Monster Component cables for PS2 for your PS3.

The picture on my 22″ HDTV looks much better from this than from the standard composite cable. Definitely worth the buy for anyone with an HDTV and a PS2.

4 Stars Quality counts
Originally purchased a discount component cable (sorry, don’t remember the brand) at Best Buy rather than pay the Sony premium, but it didn’t work out of the box. I had to put pressure on the connector to get full color to come through. The Sony cable is more expensive (online at Amazon cuts out most of the premium) but the manufacturing quality is higher.

3 Stars Went back to component cables after using this
Cables work fine, just didn’t provide a “clean picture.” Definitely added grain to the picture, while my component cables did not.

if you bought this cable off the startech website, it would cost you 53 bones, so this is definitely a deal if you wanted to use it for an audio receiver. but the video playback is nicht so gut.

i have yet to see any differences in any hdmi cords….the only thing that makes one better than the other is which ever one you can get for the cheapest price. This cord has worked perfectly me…and at a fraction of the cost of other name brand cords!

5 Stars Buyer Beware - u should read this
The StarTech HDMI cables are great and relay perfect picture and sound. The problem here is with Amazon and the Amazon Marketplace. I have three Startech HDMI cables in my home theater setup. I recently order a fourth, or so I thought. If you order from one of Amazon’s Marketplace vendors, you are not guaranteed to get an actual StarTech HDMI RoHS compliant cable. In fact, you’ll get pot luck of whatever 15ft (in the case of my order) HDMI cable the vendor has in stock. Obviously it costs more, but make sure your StarTech cable is sold by and shipped from Amazon to guarantee you are getting the HDMI cable you intend to purchase.

I received it faster than I thought I would. I bought it so that I could hook my Dell XPS laptop up to my plasma TV from the couch. It was at least 50% cheaper than any local shop.

After shopping feverishly for a reasonably priced HDMI cable, I found this on Amazon.com. The difference in prices between here and every other cable I found made this purchase a no-brainer. It was well worth paying a total of $13 (which includes shipping) and waiting all of 4 days to receive it as opposed to paying $70 - $100 at a local store. For my application the performance and quality is fantastic.

3 Stars cheap, but confusing
I bought this for my wii. I was surprised that this was so much cheaper than the other options. When I first tried to set it up I couldn’t get it to work. The manual didn’t say anything. Then, as I was putting it in it’s box to return it, I saw a little switch that said TV-HDTV. After I flipped the switch it worked great. Why it didn’t come already set to HDTV, or explain there was a switch, I don’t know.

But for me it did work with my wii, and it was less then half the price of other component cables.

5 Stars Cheap component cables for the Playstation 3
I got these for my PS3 because they were the cheapest component cables I could find. They’re advertised as being for the PS2, but the PS3 uses the same connector and these cables work just fine. No complaints!

1 Star False advertising
Don’t buy it if you expect it to work with a Gamecube or old-gen Xbox. No matter what the page says, what model # it says you’re getting or how it’s marked, they’re going to send you a version that works with PS2/3, Xbox 360 and Wii instead.

Pretty sad that they’d rather gamble on getting to keep our money than simply update the page to say they aren’t selling this product anymore.

5 Stars The God Cable: Works as advertised for Wii, 360, and PS2
I bought this for a friend, and we successfully used it to connect his Wii, XBOX 360, and PlayStation 2 to the single component input on his HDTV. I assume that it would work for his PS3, but we didn’t try it.

I would both (1) buy this again and (2) recommend it to a friend. The only downside to it is that the lengths of cable given to actually attach the devices to the cable basically force you to have a small pile of consoles to one side of your TV–one foot each just simply isn’t enough.

1 Star Not what is shown in picture!
This is not what is shown in the picture. The product i got only has 3 adapters. I cannot keep the cable plugged into the Wii and the 360 at the same time. Wii will not work unless i unplug the 360. Cannot hook up my GC or PS2!

I was so excited to finally see a third party component cable for the GC. As with the other reviewers the cable does not work.

None of these reviews were here when I bought it. Oh well I just hope these cautionary posts ward off further disappointment for GC owners.

4 in 1 cables do not provide digital picture. The plug end that plugs into gamecube unit is an analog connection that does not provide digital signal. In other words the cables have an analog connection that goes into a digital connection , Just doesnt work . I would not reccommend buying this product it simply does not work

Attention! For Game Cube and N64 this cable does NOT work as component video. It’s just a regular AV cable.

1 Star Poor Buy - 4-in-1 component cable
This compenent cable will mate to the analog video out of a gamecube, but will not provide audio or color to the compenent in of a television. I do not know if this works for playstation or xbox but do not use for gamecube as advertised on the package.

This item does not work as a component video cable for the Gamecube. Do not waste your money or time if that is what you want. If you are looking for a extremely cheap PS2 component cable, then this is ok, however there are much better cables available for just a little more money.
